Letter to 21 years old Duduzile

Hey girl

Two days before you turn 21, i am writing this with mixed emotions both excited and frightened. i am excited because you are finally going to be 21 it has been a long journey but uncertainty frightens me, not knowing what to expect, not knowing how things will turn and where life will take you.

You have lived your life until now with much caution it has not been easy, you have been hurt, broken and you have lived in pain but in all that you have always find a reason to smile. life has been a bumpy road for you, that you ended up creating a wall between you and the world.

You are not perfect, you have made mistakes and you have flaws but in all that you are an amazing human being. in your imperfection you found your perfection, in your mistakes you learnt and grew and in your flaws you found yourself and learnt to love yourself which is what makes you great.

Never forget who you are, do not be afraid to grow and learn, do not allow the society to put you in a box, limit you or define who you are because no one knows you better than yourself. you have always went against social standards that are made to limit women, please do not stop doing that.

You have always danced to your own rhythm, you have always tapped to your own drum please do not stop doing that. never be afraid to unlearn and learn new things, never allow yourself to resist change and never forget that change grows you and that comfort is important for your peace of mind.

Tapping into 21 do not loose your rhythm, do not stop dreaming and do not stop listening to the song in your head because it guides you. Wear your big girl panties but do not bury your little self because she gives you wings, flap your wings and fly but do not forget who you are, where you are from and where you are going. I love you 🌹❤

Forever be young because old people conform!!
