"Ohh snap I have been too busy that I forgot about dating", this is me every time I realise I have actually been single for a year. I do not know if I should regard it as pressure or what but my heart skipped a beat on valentine's day when i opened social media. Everyone was in the mood people were getting flowers and chocolates and then there was me (poor little thing).

Online dating, Yeah I know what is going through your mind right now you might be thinking am I really that desperate for a relationship that I turned to online dating. But that is not a reason i am writing this blog post.
We can all agree to the fact that dating has become more and more difficult in our generation. But because in this same generation everything has an app, an app from how to dance to how to control your anxiety problems. Dating also have an app, there are tons of apps you can try.
The are great and not so great stories that comes from online dating. It is a great environment for meeting people and find love if possible especially for people like me introverted, shy and socially awkward. With its pros and cons do not be afraid to try it maybe you might get your happy ending but try it with caution.
According to elitesingles.com "40% of Americans use online dating. Men use online dating more than women, 52.4% of dating users are men compared to 47.6% of women. According to businesstech.co.za, "31% of South Africans use online dating, only 10% get their happy ending while others do not get their happy ending".
These statistics shows that there are pros and cons about online dating, i will give them to you so that if you think of entering this world go in with knowledge and know how to be safe and get your own happy ending.
PROS
1. Preference choice – you have a choice in your hand you can choose what person you like based on your preferences.
2. Many fishes on the sea – you can date more than one without a guilt , because you are still swimming to catch your one fish.
3. Chat from anywhere – you can have conversation with your potentials from anywhere.
4. Clue before meeting – so you get a clue of what kind of a person they are before meeting.
5. Cost effective – keep your money and don’t bore yourself with dates with people you don’t want.
CONS
1. Cat fishing – beware people lie out there and they might tell something they ain’t and end up falling for a dream.
2. Communication – you need to keep it going because less communication may badly influence the progress of what might happen.
3. Choose an effective app that is reliable and trustworthy.
4. Time consuming – because you need to dedicate your time for good results.
5. Weirdos – there are weird people and please beware of such people.
